Q: What if my injury with one employer prevents me from working at my 2nd job.
A:This is a frequent issue within the Workers’ Compensation process. It is not uncommon for the insurance carrier to only pay you benefits for the job you were injured at, and completely disregard any additional income(s) you may have had at that time. Your gross wages may also include earnings from other work that you did at the time you were injured. Your employer may have to compensate you for lost income from other jobs as well. In order for the insurance carrier to verify such additional income(s), you must give proof of these earnings to your employer's claims administrator, so that they may consider all forms of income when calculating your temporary disability benefits.
