Q:
My doctor has released me to work before I've completely recovered, do I have to go back to work?

A:
Doctors frequently return injured worker’s back to work before they are fully healed this is problematic by itself but additionally, the employer is not always compliant with the modifications the doctor has set in place for you. If your doctor has returned you to work before you feel you are ready, it is always recommended to at least give it a try. That way, the insurance company cannot claim that you are being uncooperative and use that as an excuse to cut off your benefits. Once you have tried returning and if you feel that you cannot do the job, or that your employer is not being compliant with the modifications or restrictions your doctor advised, it is best to get back in to see your doctor immediately to see if they will take you off of work again.
