Q: What if the MPN list has PTPs in fields that I don't need...can I still get the treatment I need if these are the only PTPs I have to choose from?
A:
If you cannot find a primary treating physician (PTP) within a preferred field and you end up having to see a PTP that is in a field outside of your treatment needs, they can still be your PTP. They would request authorization for you to be seen by a specialist within your medical treatment needs. They still have the role of overseeing all of your medical treatment.
